Men in tutus

The KL Performing Arts Center or KLPac is a new institution built to house the perfoming arts center here in Malaysia. Its located in the middle of Sentul Park, a private park area developed by YTL.

I love this park. Was half tempted to buy the only condo that allows you direct access to the park. Its this surprising quiet in the middle of the city. Well planned and secure, you can jog around its ~1Km circumference. And then of course, KLPac is right in your backyard.

They have plenty of plays on the weekends for a pretty decent price. So whenever you're feeling a little chilled out, and would like to go and pay homage to the arts, do drop by KLPac. But be warned, that awesome little cafe downstairs that faces the beautiful park, is seriously understaffed - there is only one waiter taking your orders, sending them to you, getting all the payments and making all the changes and clearing up the table. So, service is pretty bad there, and sometimes you cant even get half the things on the menu. Also, there is no elevator (that I can find, so maybe someone needs to point this out to me), so be prepared to climb upstairs for the show (my dad had just come out of the hospital so it was a little tough for him to do)

This time around, we got to watch Men in Tutus.

"Direct from a sell-out tour of Europe and Asia, comes the most spectacular, talented and hilarious all male comedy ballet ever"

It was indeed, a lot of fun to watch with my family and pretty fascinating to watch all of them dancing in pointe shoes. They moved as elegantly as any female ballerina out there.

  1. you may know this by now, but the elevator in KLPac upon entry of the lobby front doors, go straight to the end (behind the plaque of acknowledgements) turn left. The elevator services the ground, first & second floor (where Pentas 1 is). Cheers.
Your blog is very helpful for my own weekend getaways in KL. Thank you.
